Reporting directly to the General Manager – Gamsberg, the incumbent will be responsible for Commercial, Procurement and the Logistics function for sourcing, pricing, planning and controlling the procurement of raw materials, consumables, services and capital equipment and logistics of raw material, finished goods and by-products at the most competitive price and most favourable commercial terms.


The minimum requirements for this role includes a Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement Management or equivalent, Drivers License and at least 7-10 years of professional experience in a Commercial related field of which 5 years should have been at a Senior Level within the mining environment. In addition to the above an MBA, MDP or related qualification would be advantageous.


As the Head Commercial, the leader will be responsible to formulate and implement a Commercial strategy for Gamsberg, including the Procurement Process, Continuous Improvement, Inventory Management, Contracts Management, Repair Process and Logistics. Direct and coordinate the Commercial Department’s financial and budget activities to fund procurement, maximize capital and increase efficiency by providing a strategic financial input into the overall vison and mission of the business including the development of a financial strategy that will optimize best practice and ROI to the business for the duration of LOM. Plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of the Asset Optimization section by maintaining a cost/output focus on all activities and set targets on all projects to ensure a cost-effective use of time and best value for each project.
