WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Monitor and manage geotechnical, geological, planning as well as survey functions and activities, while ensuring adherence to company goals and targets.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Guidelines and Company standards.
- Lead the execution of strategies in technical services to enhance current practices and performance.
- Formulate the annual operating and capital budgets for technical services.
- Ensure optimal utilization and management of the ore body.
- Ensure production and geological support is provided to the Mining and Metallurgy Departments, by the timely provision of information necessary for detailed mine planning, scheduling, and ore characterization.
- Ensure compliance to the Mandatory Code of Practice to combat Rockmass Failures and drive best practices and innovation in the field.
- Ensure execution of the Deeps and Swartberg Life of Mine schedules.
- Ensure optimal ROM tonnage and grade reporting as well as reconciliation processes to ensure continuous improvement in performance reporting and monitoring.
- Optimise human resources in a way that maximum output is delivered by the section.
- Ensure work ethics are of such a nature that workers continuously strive towards improving their own performance.
- Ability to direct employees to achieve set targets
- Proven relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills
- Goal driven leader who maintains a productive climate and confidently motivates, mobilizes and coach employees to meet high performance standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Strategic in business planning.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or MRM field of study.
- An MBA or MDP qualification will be an added advantage.
- Must have at least 8 years’ experience in a Senior role within a Technical Services Field.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and 3D Mining Software).
- Valid Code B driver’s license.
- Must obtain a Certificate of Medical Fitness.
