WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct annual resource evaluation per JORC code, including geological and grade control modelling using Leapfrog, Datamine, and Vulcan.
  • Generate Longhole shapes and best ore fit aligned to budget; plan dilution and blending strategies to optimize plant feed, recovery, and metal targets.
  • Lead brownfields exploration and underground definition drilling to delineate orebody in advance of mining activities.
  • Compile monthly reports on grade control, drilling, and ore reconciliation; assess compliance of underground geologists with standards and safe work practices.
  • Deliver monthly grade control, drilling, and ore reconciliation reports; ensure compliance with SOPs and safety standards through audits and assessments.
  • Supervise and mentor the geological team, conduct performance reviews, lead weekly planning meetings, and drive continuous safety and production improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, production effectiveness, and metallurgical classification for better ore processing and recovery outcomes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • BSc Honours degree in Geology coupled with a minimum of 5 – 8 years experience in production geology of underground mines, preferably experience in metamorphosed sulphide deposits.
  • Understanding of safety practices and standards as well as their implementation.
  • 3D ability to understand geological structures with competence in MS Office, Maptek Vulcan, Datamine and Leapfrog.
  • Analytical and numerical ability coupled with a results and performance orientation.
  • Ability to supervise a multi-disciplined team and display strong communication skills.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Must be able to obtain a Certificate of Medical Fitness.
