WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist the Rock Engineer to ensure compliance to geotechnical designs and support systems (compliance with regulations and operating standards).
- Ensure operations meet all legal requirements with regards to Geotechnical Engineering, ensuring the safety of individuals on site.
- Provide Strata Control support for the Production teams addressing underground ground control issues.
- Monitor and conduct quality assurance programmes like PTO and pull tests.
- Assist in the implementation of Rock Engineering monitoring programs, as required.
- Training of Mining personnel on rockfall hazards and control measures.
- Conduct underground inspections to observe/investigate geotechnical/strata conditions.
- Investigate specific issues at Rock Engineer’s request to assess impact/potential implications on mining operations, e.g. stope dimensions, changes to blasting methods, etc.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Grade 12 & Chamber of Mines Strata Control Certificate.
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Geology, Rock Engineering Qualification, Competent A and B will be advantageous.
- Minimum of three (3) years underground massive mining experience .
- Valid Drivers License.
- Be able to obtain a certificate of Medical Certificate of Fitness.
- High level of self motivation and be able to set high standards in his/her quality of work.

- Remuneration will be according to qualifications and experience and will include competitive conditions of employment.
